The other day while out on our SEAL tour \u2013 we actually floated past one of these cool things!!\u00a0 FLIP \u2013 Floating Instrument Platform.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t in its upright form but rather docked at the Navy wharf near the section where the Navy Dolphins & Seals live.\u00a0 Had to come back & google it so I could share it with you all.\u00a0 Here is my picture as it sits beside the dock \u2013 looks pretty unassuming \u2013 just a big cannister like object. People have actually thought it was a gas tank. I\u2019m attaching the link (\u00a0 http:\/\/www.ship-technology.com\/projects\/flip-ship\/<\/a>\u00a0) \u2013 you can only see the one end \u2013 but that end eventually flips vertical (300 m under water) into the water\u00a0and a \u00a0huge section sits 5 stories above the water!!\u00a0 Very cool\u00a0reading!\u00a0 $\"\"$ <\/a><\/p>\n
