<\/a>Yes they were easy to operate \u2013 you yanked down on the actual towel and once you had enough \u201cfresh\u201d towel you could dry your\u00a0hands quite\u00a0well.\u00a0 Oh yes I know some of them were\u00a0tricky \u2013 you had to pull the back down then give the front a good yank to get it going but pretty much fool-proof.<\/p>\nThen I guess someone figured there were too many germs and a new dryer had to be invented\u2026really I do not believe these people have actually experienced a public washroom because quite frankly they are the dragon\u2019s den of germs.\u00a0 The janitors are probably so grossed out by the public\u2019s lack of bathroom etiquette that they dive in and just do what is necessary to pass the inspection.\u00a0 Here\u2019s a little view of a public washroom I\u2019m sure we\u2019ve all encountered at least once in our lives.<\/p>\n
OK maybe the duct tape is a little extreme but you get where I\u2019m \u00a0going with this.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Usually when I\u2019m in a bathroom like this \u2013 if the flusher isn\u2019t automated \u2013 then I\u2019m doing one of these:<\/p>\n Ok\u00a0but\u00a0back to the hand dryer \u2013 so with evolution we had a couple different options \u2013 I\u2019m not really sure which one was better.\u00a0 The old style hot air blower didn\u2019t really cut it\u00a0as usually unless you stood for a full 2-3 minutes you\u2019re hands were never dry and most people would give them the\u00a0old wipe across the\u00a0pants. Which looks\u00a0terrible as you are exiting the washroom by the way\u2026.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Or we had another option of the pull the towelette out the bottom type \u2013 as in this next photo:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n So now the newest invention is the Dyson \u2013 blow the skin off your hand \u2013 dryer!\u00a0 Have you had the pleasure of this machine?<\/p>\n And speaking of wonder \u2013 have you ever seen this lady \u2013 we did on the show Ripley\u2019s Believe it or Not.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a>Which was fine \u2013 until it jammed and you couldn\u2019t pull the towel down. Usually the key, as you can see on the top, was gone so a person would just flip it open and start diving in \u2013 usually resulting in people taking a stack of towels out \u2013 using way more than they needed and dumping the rest on the counter\u2026into a puddle of water \u2013 resulting in waste.<\/p>\n<\/a>One of the most typical bathroom towel dispensers is the one pictured on the left.\u00a0 Seems like a fine example except usually when you see them the garbage part of it is over flowing and you have to either toss your own used towel at it \u2013 hoping it sticks and doesn\u2019t fall on the floor or you search for another garbage.\u00a0 Great idea but the garbage part is a little small for longer periods of time between janitor visits.<\/p>\n<\/a>I\u2019m not\u00a0really sure what they call them \u2013 \u201cSkin Remover 1000\u201d, \u201cLook at what your skin looked like when you had tight, younger skin\u201d, \u201cDo you know how much air pressure your hands can take\u201d??\u00a0 Just a couple of names I wondered about. \u00a0 All kidding aside \u2013 they work \u2013 you simply place your hands down the slots and it automatically blasts them with air \u2013 in under a minutes you are walking out \u2013 completely dry and not wiping your hands on your pants.\u00a0\u00a0 It really makes me wonder though what will be the next hand dryer invention\u2026.<\/p>\n
