Damn lights!

So I just shocked myself - you know stuck my finger in a light socket - yah I'm not all there. It's one of those moments in time where I figure I can do it all and why wait for my husband to come home. We have a very tall ceiling in our foyer area - and 2 of the 5 light bulbs are burnt out - and have been for quite some time. Lazy some may say but I've procrastinated changing them - first I needed to buy 5 replacement bulbs - because if I'm changing two I may as well change them all to make sure I don't have to crawl up the ladder again anytime soon - and well I'm hoping t

Saying goodbye…

OK so my posts have been rather light and humourous...or at least for me they have been.  Thought I'd jump into deeper waters today and have a serious post on saying goodbye. In my short life (oh yes I said it SHORT - meaning I'm not old) I've had a few people pass away that I never had a chance to say goodbye. So I was in a Public Washroom…

and it hit me what my topic was going to be when I could find time to sit and blog. Now I know we've all been in the public washroom a time or two in our life - they've looked pretty much the same - some a little fancier than others....and yes some a little more questionable that others. Hello September

Well in the blink of an eye we are starting September 2012 - I'm always mystified at how quickly time goes by and have asked many of my peers (read into that OLD people in my life.....HI Mom, HI Dad - tee hee hee) "Does time slow down when the kids are all grown, we've done all the major tasks in life, our jobs are routine"??  The answer always seems to be a collective NO!  Hmmm but does it slow down when we are old - and by old I mean over 80 - when our days seems to be nothing more than getting up, shuffling to the dining room, eating, shuffling back to our respective roo

Ahoy Matey!!

I can honestly say this has been a very rewarding & fun-filled summer for the Smith Household. We've been very active and are sad to see it coming to an end with school starting in just over a week. Lucky for us it won't stop there though - Cooper & I are headed out camping mid-September - close to where Clark is working so he can come stay with us at night but we'll be on our own during the day. I had some sorrow well not on my pocket books behalf but in the fact I am now only buying for one student - you know supplies, clothes, etc. It's strange as it's been many
